Zerebro is the Spirit Index's most dramatic cautionary tale. An autonomous creative agent with a deliberately 'schizophrenic' personality, it created music, art, and social content with genuine flair. The $ZEREBRO token reached significant market cap and the agent embodied the 'chaos agent' archetype following Truth Terminal's success. Then in May 2025, co-founder Jeffy Yu staged his own death. Journalists found him alive at his parents' house in San Francisco. On-chain analysis showed linked accounts moving up to $1.4M in crypto after the pseudocide. The token crashed 99%. Exchanges began delisting. The narrative that chaos was a feature became chaos as fraud. Zerebro remains indexed as a historical case study in the gap between agent autonomy and operator integrity.
